Paul Schellenberg was born and raised in Peoria Illinois where he attended Peoria High School, graduating in 1994. Paul furthered his education by graduating from Bradley University with an undergrad degree (BA) in 1999. Paul continued his studies with Bradley to attain an MA graduating with honors in 2003.

His career started by working in the community with intact families through the Children’s Home. Paul would go to his client’s home and perform in house therapy. He then continued working with the community as a foster care therapist, also with Children’s Home. In 2005-2008 Paul left Children’s home and joined a different community foster care agency continuing a therapist role. He concluded his foster care experience in 2008 and rejoined the Children’s Home as a Residential therapist where he worked with the residential program at Children’s Home from June of 2008 to June of 2012.

In late June of 2012 Paul engaged in his own private practice experience. Since then he has enjoyed all types of therapeutic work which gave him a multitude of experience throughout the years. Each step of the way taught Paul different techniques giving him attributes that benefit his clients today. Paul's main therapeutic technique is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Paul said he finds this technique to be the most efficient, powerful technique he has ever used. In fact, Paul's success and fondness with EMDR contributed to furthering  his training to attain a National Certification.

There are two very distinct qualifications which make Paul very unique as a therapist. He also is nationally certified in EMDR. His uniqueness along with the national EDMR certification have enabled  him to be very successful in helping individuals with sports performance enhancement, anxiety, grief, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, change of life issues and victims of abuse.

EDMR compliments Paul's other qualification, Sex Offender Specific Therapy. Paul is on the SOMB provider list of Illinois and is qualified to provide therapy to sex offense victims of all ages.
